In Sometimes it Rains: Breaking Chains of Bondage, author Dr. Joan Rathe recognizes reveals, and shares tearful, painful, and at times beautiful, humorous, and poignant memories of her lifetime battle against dark forces of evil. Joan’s daughter, Melanie Rachelle Thompson, was a young woman who suffered most of her life from Post Traumatic Syndrome, addictions, depression, abuse, rape, and in the end was a homicide victim of a drug dealer. Melanie’s older sister Lauren Figueroa was an RN and had been working with street addicts. Tragically, she contracted Hepatitis C and lost her life.
