PRAY NO to Drugs, Pornography, Gambling, Obesity and Smoking

The weekend of April 6 – April 7, 2013 has been designated as the 23rd Annual “Just Pray NO!” to drugs Worldwide Weekend of Prayer and Fasting. We are not only praying for the release of those bound by substance abuse but also for people to be delivered from pornography, gambling, obesity and smoking.

Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:16

Since April 7th, 1991 “Just Pray NO!” has united millions of Christians from 150 nations and territories around the world in intercessory prayer on behalf of the addicted and their families. Not only is substance abuse America’s number one health problem, the devastation of alcoholism and other drug addiction has impacted families and communities worldwide.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12

Make a formal commitment to join with believers in Christ from around the globe this coming April. Put on the full armor of God and fervently pray in spirit and in truth. We are seeking to enlist millions of prayer warriors from around the world to join us in battle!

Is it your heart’s desire to see people delivered, healed and set free to serve the Lord Jesus Christ?

  1. What a great opportunity for someone who is not a counselor, pastor or psychologist to help those with addictions. Prayer is a powerful thing and anyone who believes in it can do it.

    • AMEN! Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6 Prayer, in the mighty name of Jesus, has the power to move the hand of Father God. Jesus was anointed to set the captives free. The Son of Man was manifested to destroy the works of the devil.

  2. For God to help me make a living through my business in supplying all my and my moms needs, I haven’t made anything from my business yet, since I started it last April.BR For God to heal the insomnia I’ve had for 19 years, to heal/deliver me from the voice I’ve had in my head that’s not of God, for the last 19 years.BR To build close Christian friendships/build close family relationships.BR For God to bring a Proverbs 31 woman into my life to become my wife/helpmate.BR Pray for God to fill me with the Holy Spirit. And provide me with discipleship training with other Christians.BR For God to heal my moms health conditions, they are dementia, osteoarthritis-pain and stiffness in her back, hips and legs, swelling in her legs, feet and ankles, she has continence-a weak bladder, type 1 sugar diabetes, osteoporosis, high blood pressure, a thyroid condition, a buildup of plack and cholesterol in her arteries and veins, also two crooked toes on her right foot. She needs her muscles in her legs strengthened. BR Yours in Christ, Gary Cable cable6131@yahoo.com

    • “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” Luke 11:9-10

If your are sincerely seeking deliverance and are desire to be free from the snare of the devil, I would strongly recommend that you seek a charismatic Bible believing church in your area that ministers deliverance. You need to have a team of elders anoint you with oil and pray over you.

You need to repent and renounce of all activities that opened the door for you to be under demonic influences – especially sexual promiscuity and perversion, occult activities (tarot cards, Ouija boards, horoscopes, participation in secret organizations like the Masons, witchcraft, etc.), drug addiction and alcoholism.

You need to break off any generational curses by repenting of and renouncing the sins of your family back to the 10th generation, in order to rid yourself of any familiar spirits (demons that attach themselves to families).

All ungodly soul ties (unclean spirits you made have acquired through physical relationships and emotional ties to non-believers) must be severed by repenting and renouncing and pleading the blood of Christ over you.

“But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” Luke 6:27

Another important key to deliverance and healing is forgiveness. Forgive those who have hurt you so that is no root of bitterness in your heart. Remember that we are forgiven with the same measure that we forgive others.

All demonic assignments and curses against you must be broken in the name of Jesus Christ. Plead the blood of Christ over yourself and your family.

Finally when your spiritual house is swept clean, asked to be baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33

Your prayers to build close family and Christian relationships as well as making a decent living through your business will be answered as you seek the righteousness of Christ in your life and are delivered and healed.

In the mighty name of Messiah Jesus I pray that you will be healed, delivered and set free to serve the Lord with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength. I pray that your mother’s needs will be taken care of and that she will find healing, comfort and peace. AMEN

  3. Quitting smoking can be one of the biggest challenges in life. The most important factor in being successful in quitting is the determination and decision to be a nonsmoker.

The tools or methods you use to quit smoking are less important. Many will work if you are committed to quitting.

    • Dear Tom,

I agree that, as in any other addiction, a smoker must first accept the fact they need help and then must be totally committed to quitting. First by admitting that you are a sinner in need of the Savior, a person must surrender their life to Jesus. Then he/she can be empowered by the Holy Spirit in their life to be delivered from the bondage of nicotine or any other addiction.

  4. There are many “evils” in this world today. I think God tests us with many of these to see if we take advantage of them or not. Control is very important.

    • I agree. But it is more than a matter of control. It is a matter of surrendering our will to God and making Jesus both the “Lord of our life” as well as our Savior. The indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit will purify us from all unrighteousness as we daily confess our sins and seek to live our lives as unto the Lord.

  5. Hello.

The Lord has called me to a 100 day fast. Yes, I know it’s an unusual # of days than the typical but He’s given that # to me to fast Facebook, meat, sugar, yeast. My purpose in the post is to share that I’m on day 5 and I’m trying to overcome an addiction to smoking. I did well day one then day 2 that evening I was around it and feel into the temptation. Day 3 I fell in the evening due to stress as I felt like I was going crazy w/ my emotions…again I failed. Day 4 & 5 I was doing well until my husband and I bumped heads & I resort to the cigarette. This smoking has been a form of escape for me in my old nature & I’m so frustrated that I know better but am so weak. I’ve been doing well breaking the habit of diet cokes and sugar but the smoking seems to have such a tight grip. The purpose of my fast is to break out of the wilderness & inherit the promise land, to be the generation that breaks the curse & raise the bar for the generations to come. There have been so many exact prophetic word over my life to be a minister/teacher & I want to align myself to Gods calling by living a life worthy of the call. Would you please pray for me? I found that I justified the smoking by thinking ‘I’ll cut back in this to where I will not smoke for I’m detoxing so much right not that my body is withdraws that are unbearable’ This is humbling as I share this for I’m a “closet smoker” I’m in a ministry school, God uses me for His glory somewhat publicly & the whole bit but have this hanging over my head. I have shared with my pastor & a few trusted leaders and they don’t seem to be offended or alarmed by this but I want freedom and fulfill my calling. I know HE is the greatest eacape however in the moment when My flesh is screaming Ive put this as an idol of escape and feel like a failure afterwards. Thank you.

    • Dear Crystal:

In Hosea 4:6 the LORD states that His people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. To gain insight and understanding of the bondage of nicotine addiction and how to break free, please go to my blog – https://justprayno.org/2012/02/13/cigarettes-are-extremely-addictive-due-to-the-drug-nicotine/.

Heavenly Father and God of All Mercy:

I come before your throne of grace in the precious and powerful name of Messiah Yeshua. I take authority in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, by the power of His atoning blood, and by the Spirit that raised Christ from the dead and cast out the spirits of addiction, fear and torment from Crystal Bailey and speak life, freedom and health into her body, soul and mind. I pray that You minister peace, comfort and strength to Crystal by the Holy Spirit. May she glorify You, dear God, in her testimony and life of freedom in Christ. AMEN
